Single Sessions

Single Session Therapy is the idea of focusing on one problem and one goal in one session. It might be that you would like to find a psychologist to listen to what you are dealing with. Or to help you zoom in on all the possible sides of the problem. Maybe to help you look at possible solutions.

Single Sessions make therapy accessible. You no longer need to be choosing multiple sessions if you already know what’s wrong. You might just need that guidance to find your own solution. A great thing is that it offers quick relief, because you can get an appointment within a week. Also, it helps you build up your self-esteem which sometimes takes a hit when you are struggling with something, by reminding you of your strengths.
It’s cost effective, because you work only on that one issue and do not have to be burdened by longer term treatment. It’s also evidence-based, which means that it has been shown to an effective approach. People who have had a Single Session mention that they have felt better after a session and feel more prepared to deal with the situation.

Single Session work for individual clients as well as couples. Before a session you will receive a questionnaire in order to be better prepared for the session and to allow your psychologist to have some information. Then for an individual it’ll be a session of 50 minutes, for a couple it’ll be 80 minutes. Four weeks after the session there is an aftercare call of 15 minutes. The cost is 300ANG for an individual and 415ANG for a couple.
Intensives
Have you ever felt that your shorter sessions with your psychologist aren’t getting to the root of the problem? If you could stay for longer, talk for longer, it would be more effective? Maybe your schedule is too busy to allow you to go in multiple times? Or you need help NOW and intensive help at that?
Intensive sessions are like a VIP package. You get help now, you skip the lines and work quickly on your problems.
I really liked Giullitta as my psychologist. She helped me understand my childhood traumas and how these were influencing my current life. I could get myself to understand from which mode or part of myself I was reacting, which doesn’t mean I always do it perfectly. But Giullitta taught me that this is also okay and to accept that.
Intensives seem very expensive, but this is because you get all the attention on you. Right at the moment that you need it. This does not mean that you are never allowed to get therapy at another point, or have multiple sessions after. But the idea is that the intense nature will allow you to work on your issues.
The intensive sessions can be for an individual client for trauma therapy for example. It is an intense treatment, but can help you achieve a breakthrough. It is also something that can be used for couples. It allows you to work more effectively on specific issues. This without the weekly reset like when you go and see a psychologist once a week.
We needed help right away, as we were doing well, but as soon as we had an argument, this would blow up. Our arguments were always about who felt more hurt. We did a dance like Giullitta said, but we weren’t dancing in the way we wanted to. She danced bachata, while I tried salsa. Giullitta helped us chose merengue and we both danced with ease
Intensives start with a couple of questionnaires in order to set the treatment goals. After this the amount of time will be planned. Generally it will be half-days, chunks of 2 to 3 hours of treatment.
As always there are no guarantees on treatment. But we know that this could be a good and effective place to start. A 2 hour intensive for an individual is 550ANG and a 3 hour for a couple is 1000ANG.
It was for sure an investment, but I’m happy I did it. I didn’t think that something that happened so long ago still affected me, even though I noticed being triggered. Giullitta listened to me in this long session (and very intense session). But amazingly I feel so much better!
